Urban Heat Island / Green Roofs Initiative, West Harlem
The UDL has been working with WE ACT for Environmental Justice to define the feasibility of creating a corridor of green roofs along 125th Street. This research describes the environmental issues in Harlem that green roofs could address. It also outlines the most efficient and cost-effective way to develop green roofs in the local building stock. The collaboration will also develop a pilot curriculum for students in schools where green roofs are built.
